What a great year 2011 has been! Not only have we continued to make balloon sculptures at school carnivals, church festivals, corporate events, and restaurants, but we have also done some of our most creative decor to date.
In January, we created 10-ft. tall Palmetto trees for the Governor's Family Fun night and then "twisted" the night away making fun balloon animals for all the children.
In March we made our largest balloon arch ever. It was 70-ft long and spanned all five lanes of Blossom Street in Five Points. It was erected for the St. Patrick's Day run, and had to be finished by 7am, so we started building at 4am, Oh my!
In the spring we decorated for a fundraiser at 701 Whaley Street using over 2000 balloons. The theme was "Adults at Play," so we made a10-ft long balloon tunnel for guests to walk through as they entered the event.
We made balloon animal centerpieces, and a balloon chair that guests could actually sit in!
We also covered five columns with balloons making the whole room burst with color. The effect was well worth the effort!
For a Fall Homecoming event we made a 7-ft tall mascot entirely out of balloons. He took 30 hours to create, and had to be assembled onsite because he wouldn't fit into our van.
Thanks to everyone who made 2011 such a wonderful year for Balloonopolis. We had a great time and are ready to stretch our creative muscles to make 2012 even more spectacular. See you then!
